I hate cheesy, sentimental, over-done songs written simply to tug at the heart strings… you know the one’s I’m talking about… Proud to be an American by Lee Greenwood and The Christmas Shoes sung by Bob Carlisle… oh… and speaking of Carlisle… how about Butterfly Kisses? I hate being manipulated by these stupid songs.

God and I had a long talk…

… and we came to the following conclusion:

It is perfectly ok for me to be discouraged, depressed, sad, frustrated, etc by the turns life takes, HOWEVER, to wallow in it shows an IMMENSE lack of Faith and I should cut it out!

21st Century Legalism

I just read a great post by Bill Giovannetti on his blog, Max Grace (click for the original post). Bill is Sr. Pastor of Neighborhood Church in Redding, CA (my soon to be home town, with God’s help).

In his post, Bill describes the new legalism facing American churches in the 21st century. He is witty and insightful and I think these words need sharing!
